He has also performed at many wineries in Napa, Sonoma and the South Bay, including Robert Mondavi, Cuvaison, Artesa, Clos Pegase, Far Niente, Byington, Viansa, Sterling and Niebaum-Coppola, as well as at events for Sen. He and his groups "Tocar" and "Mano a Mano" have appeared at the S.F. Jazz Festival, S.F. Performances, the North Beach Jazz Festival, and the San Jose Jazz Festival. He has recorded 4 CDs of original music, "Echoes of Paradise," "Mano a Mano," and "Flamenco Bridge," and (with JP Buongiorno) "Entrances," as well as a CD of Classical guitar, "Leyenda."
Jean-Paul Buongiorno is a guitarist, composer and singer who has performed extensively with "Tocar", "Mano a Mano" and his own trio, as well as with the Brazilian singer Dandara, with whom he recorded the CD "Brazilian Flavor."
Together they play their own original material, featuring a variety of Latin rhythms, fiery collective improvisation, lyrical memorable melodies, colorful harmonies and intricate two guitar interplay.
