Magical
author: dreea
I've come to know that a "good" voice is easy to find - I'm not kidding. Actually, they're everywhere, singing the right pitched notes, with complete breath control, stability, etc...but often times, that's not the point. Perfection doesn't move people, necessarily - it's emotion, color, timbre, mood...it's the ability to show the listener the inside of your soul through your voice. It's what you do with that perfection...it's going above the "right" and "wrong" of notes. Jenn and Ry have both of these - they are highly accomplished musicians (ie, they play all the right notes, have great composition skills, technique, etc)...but they have something to say with it all. Now that, my friends, is rare - and you find it here. An essential album, really - truly beautiful, in every way.

"What Matters" has a very easy and slightly haunting feel, and Jennifer Kimball's voice has a magical allure.

A good first collaborative album from two talented artists.
author: Scot Fenn
A good first collaborative album for Jennifer Kimball and Rye Cavanaugh. Jennifer sings beautifully as on her solo album "Veering from the Wave" and explores some new sounds with tracks like "Be My Baby". Rye Cavanaugh impresses as well with a wonderfull soothing voice and use of deep lyrics like in tracks like "All the Same" The added bonus of the album is great female back up singing that nicely compliments Kimball's voice. The only disappointing thing about the album to me is that the two singers didn't use more harmony and perform more tracks together.
