About the Mayflies: The Mayflies play rock music rooted firmly in bluegrass, psychedelic rock and blues....all built around vivid and playful songcraft. Having been selected early in their career as a showcase act for SXSW 2001 in Austin TX, was a good indicator of the potential of this group of players. 2005-2006 has seen tremendous musical growth for The Mayflies, their songs opening up and blossoming as the players take more liberties within the song form...exploring the rhythmic and tonal possibilities therein.
