About the Mayflies: The Mayflies play rock music rooted firmly in bluegrass, psychedelic rock and blues....all built around vivid and playful songcraft. Having been selected early in their career as a showcase act for SXSW 2001 in Austin TX, was a good indicator of the potential of this group of players. 2005-2006 has seen tremendous musical growth for The Mayflies, their songs opening up and blossoming as the players take more liberties within the song form...exploring the rhythmic and tonal possibilities therein. On the stage, The Mayflies are energetic, spontaneous, tight yet loose, and supremely satisfying. They will take you from feverish swirling dance, to blissful beauty and leave you wanting more.
About Jerusalem Ridge: "On only their second full-length disc (and first since 2003's 'Americana Gothic'), The Mayflies churn out a brilliant, balanced set of sparkling, clear-water instrumental breakaways, gospel-inflected harmony showcases and, perhaps best of all, a half-dozen more opportunities (most notably on the masterful, gut-wrenching 'St. James Hospital') to hear why Stacy Webster is the best, most expressive pure country/roots singer to come down the pike in many a moon.
Muscular, spirited and utterly captivating, this one's a real gem." - Jim Musser, Iowa City Press-Citizen

This cd is Well worth the money spent. All the songs are equally as good as the one previous. My favorite tracks are jerusalem ridge and st. james hospital. The cd does not feel long and dragged out it all flows together as one great album.
