This guy is great. His consistancy as a writer is mind blowing. From the Rooks to his solo work, M.M. is on top. He never lets you down.

Wow! A friend of mine back east bought this CD for me as a belated birthday present after turning me on to this band and I have to tell you I was/am blown away. As a recent convert to The Rooks and to Michael Mazzarella himself how could I have not known about this band! I will be getting all the band recordings just as soon as I can but for now this demo CD is more than keeping me happy. I can hear a lot of Elliott Smith in Mazzarella’s writing and performance as well as even a little Nick Drake or Jeff Buckley. I love the lo-fi quality of the recording and man, his lyrics! Where did this guy come from? It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it sure is mine. Fans of Drake and Buckley and others like them owe it to themselves to give this guy a listen. Stellar!
