Inscape covers a wide range of styles, from the haunting Baroque beauty of Bach's Lute Suite in A Minor (originally for cello) to the playful joy of Duane Allman's Little Martha. Brazilian music is well represented with the lyrical, folkloric Sounds of Bells by Guimaraes, the innovative harmony and melodic beauty of the Gavota Choro by Villa-Lobos, and the reflective, moody romance of Solidao, a Jobim/Fernandes composition. La Catedral, by the great guitar composer Augustin Barrios, has a reverent, religious quality in the first two movements, followed by the fiery final allegro movement.

Fernando Sor's elegant and classical Minuet No. 10, in a style reminiscent of Mozart, the flamenco-like impressionism of the Albeniz Asturias, and the Moorish beauty of Tarrega's Capricho Arabe round out this diverse recording with a Spanish flavor. In all cases, performances were chosen based on their uniqueness and ability to convey a mood.
