Mike Bell is a professional musician who has been both a performer and a composer for many years.
He began playing piano and studying Classical music at the age of 5.
He was soon seduced by jazz and rock'n'roll...and it has been said that his style clearly derives from all three influences.
Mike composes, records and performs worldwide, working alongside many well-known artists both on stage and as a studio musician. These include Albert Lee, Dennis Locorriere (the voice of Dr Hook), Benny Gallagher, Pick Withers (Dire Straits) and Sonny Curtis of the Crickets to name but a few.
Time Was is Mike's third album and is a collection of original material which is essentially, but not exclusively, a jazz album, and is, as can be seen from the titles, unashamedly nostalgic.
It is a melodic journey consisting of original improvistaion around themes and tunes. The perfect way to chill out and relax.
All compositions were written, played, and produced by Mike Bell.
