Thanks for coming to this page. When you listen to these clips try to picture yourself standing in the middle of the rainforest as the distant birds and streams echo around you. When I was recording this I used to imagine
that some of the wild animals were actually performing these songs for me, kind of my own private concert. I think that's what helped give the album it's somewhat innocent feel.
This album seems to be more upbeat and melodic than others that I've heard. That's partly why I decided to call it The Jungle's "PLAYFUL" Symphony. It's gotten great respones already and it's even become the "soundtrack" to an attraction in Myrtle Beach.
I recorded this at my home studio and all in all it took me about six months to complete. I was lucky enough to get Mark Rubel (producer of HUM's Downward is Heavenward album) to clean up my mixes and do some mastering for me. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Listen to a couple of tracks, if you like it great, it's only ten bucks- If not, thanks for stopping by this page anyway.

Safari-like musical journey full of well-intentioned fun
author: Joe Ross
Although liner notes are minimal, "The Jungle's Playful Symphony" is apparently largely electronically produced and synthesized music. It wasn't really what I was expecting, and it will become one of a few rhythmic new-age albums I own. A check of Matt's website indicates that he's in the "sonic landscaping" business, and I can see how his music would be popular at a Myrtle Beach attraction. My computer's speakers also had some difficulty with the equalization, and some of Matt's percussion came through a little distorted. In particular, the resonant bass drum marching along at the same dynamic reminds me of an old Tarzan movie. Burmeister's music does have a frolicsome feeling, and the simple melodic passages do convey a safari-like journey full of good spirited and well-intentioned fun.

Good Afro-pop party music from Australia!
author: Joe Ross
Bernhard Huber and John Laidler hail from Australia, and they have embraced Afro-pop sounds on largely original compositions. Their electric guitars, bass and drums has jazz, blues, reggae, and rock influences. Okapi Guitars produce a great deal of sound, and their rhythmic intensity would get an audience on their feet dancing. The eight songs on this project span from 4-7 minutes apiece, and this gives each of them plenty of room to breathe. The genesis of "One on One," for example, also incorporates accordion and vocal harmony. Rose Langford is a special vocal guest on three tracks, including her self-penned "Desperate Sea." Good party music!

Very Cool
author: Maddie
I picked this up at a zoo I visited. I was bouncing my head to the grooves the whole time I was there. I don't really even like this type of music but this one is very cool!! A good find.
