ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This is an intimate recording of songs I've written in the past year or so...some stretch further back and have been re-tooled, so to speak... all recorded myself (no multi-tracking...)in one sitting, and then played into my computer for CD burning... I was selling them at my shows and now they're available here at CD Baby -- hope you enjoy it... originally titled "Real Rough Wendy" -- it's pretty basic, raw energy...hope you like it...
:)

More about me.....
Wendy McDowell, born on the "spacecoast" of Florida, has been performing around the state for more than half of her life. Her award-winning creative writing skills in high school naturally led her towards penning her own songs. By the time she was 15, Wendy was playing drums and guitar in several Tampa-area bands. While at college in Gainesville, Wendy stepped out in front of the kit more often and began singing her originals. Soon, Wendy was splitting her time as drummer, guitarist, and singer/songwriter, playing "more gigs than anyone" (Moon Magazine).

Eventually, Wendy made the decision to devote herself fully toward her songs and went solo. It wasn't long before other musicians in town looked her up - and she now fronts a finely tuned, fun loving band, Tin Angel. As a solo artist and front woman, Wendy has toured the country, delivering her powerful vocals and insightful lyrics for highly appreciative fans. Her highly confessional prose and emphasis on the rock and roll big beat have intrigued the press and charmed her audiences. Warm and sincere, Wendy McDowell's passion for music and life is contagious.

Wendy McDowell is a progressive acoustic rock performer. She has been singing in and around Florida since 1989 and enjoys a loyal following. Her songwriting skills won a position in the New Works Showcase Cutting Edge Compilation CD, and opening dates with national acts Sister Hazel, Kristen Hall, Nil Lara, For Squirrels Halcyon, Diane Ward, Michelle Malone and disappear fear. Her band, Tin Angel has won a position in the Florida Music Harvest for several years running, appearing with artists such as Joan Osborne, Widespread Panic, They Might Be Giants, Blues Traveler and George Clinton & the P-Funk Allstars. Wendy has also showcased in the prestigious South by Southwest and RockRGrl Music Conferences. She continues to play venues throughout the United States and Mexico, including Atlanta, Miami, Seattle, Denver, Dallas, Austin, Asheville, Knoxville, Greenville and Washington D.C.
