Album Notes

Calley McGrane is a 16 year-old fiddler and vocalist who is the front person for the band "Calley McGrane and the Exiles". She was introduced to the classical violin at age seven and was soon drawn to the music of her Celtic roots. Calley learned the art of fiddling from some fine musicians from Ireland, Canada, and near her home in New England. With her heartfelt singing of traditional Irish ballads as popular as her electrifying fiddling, Calley is a popular musician in the Northeast US.

Calley is joined by her dad, John McGrane on acoustic guitar; Mark Stein on Bodhran and Lead Vocals; Dave Knauf on Electric Bass and backing vocals; as well as several guest musicians. Local Comhaltas Chairman, Terry Sullivan, appears on the CD playing wooden flute, whistle, and bagpipes. This is the Exile's second CD and continues on with a mix of hard driving traditional Celtic fiddle tunes, rebel songs, and haunting ballads. The Exiles play traditional Irish music but impart some extra energy and a few contemporary sounds with added percussion, electric bass, and vocal harmonies.
