Album Notes
In M.C. Untytled's first solo album since "M.C. Untytled In Central America" (2005), we once again bear witness to a startling evolution in lyricism, consciousness, and songwriting. "WE BUILD" contains a wide range of styles and ideas, spanning from late 2005 to early 2009. The unifying concept behind "WE BUILD" is the idea of opening up and exposing oneself as opposed to closing in, of sharing and building with other people instead of alone, and coming together to heal and construct in a time of great division and uncertainty. Inspired by a broad spectrum of artists, genres and ideas, M.C. Untytled created “WE BUILD” with a focus on dynamic and versatile song composition, more interesting melodies/harmonies, and more thought-provoking poetics. The result is an album that is strikingly new and unique, but that is nevertheless a cohesive body of work representing an expansion of the underground hip-hop art form - the likes of which the world has never before heard. The album features songs produced by Mike Cee of Beats For Eats, raps by Dan “the NARC” Fajans, and drum work by jazz prodigy Steve Lyman.
