Album Notes

The executive producer of the BIONIK Roots EP is Stefon Taylor. This longtime collaborator of MC ZULU's has produced and engineered music for many top-selling, multiplatinum artists around the world. He has said repeatedly in interviews that he still derives inspiration from Zulu's clipped, randomized Dancehall-inflected cadence.

This project has been created with acappellas which were hand picked for their worldly lyrical content. The artwork was meticulously crafted as a mural, using canvas and printed portraits.

The musical style of the E.P. is more traditional Roots Reggae. Accompanying the 5 remixes are Dubs, which hearken back to the days of Studio One, and draw from BIONIK's experiences working with Reggae pioneer Scientist.
