This is an album I can listen to over and over. Marc's first album was great, this is even better. If you haven't seen him live, find out where he is playing and get out there.

Marc is amazingly talented. His lyrics are powerful, telling stories that take you in. The melodies are soothing, his voice is both smooth and rich. This is most certainly one musician who has it all.

Second Chance elavates, elucidates and entertains.
author: John Ramspacher
Second Chance, by Marc Douglas Berardo, creates a musical space quickly and evenly, spiraling through an emotional landscape, painting images of people and places, accompanied by a gorgeous finger-picking guitar style built with subtle phrases and deft crescendo. With a voice you feel you've known most of your life, Marc pulls you in, makes you feel at home, and kicks off your shoes for you. His songs are poignant, emotive, and at times, philosophical. But he is careful about his lyrics. He seems to know that he has limited space to tell you what he is thinking or seeing in his mind's eye. As if every word was precious, Marc is not wasteful. And when so many singer/songwriters seem to produce lyrics like Charles Dickens (as if paid by the word!), it is refreshing to spend time with Marc's economical style. However, this brevity leads directly to the message of each song on Second Chance; even while the music meanders wistfully at times, Marc paints with words descriptive, evocative and clear (Loudon Wainwright-esque). I highly recommend Second Chance for the pure pleasure of a singer/songwriter "gettin it done" with joy, fear, serenity and ultimately, inquisitiveness. Enjoy it over and over.

Marc's Second Chance takes you there.

I was hesitant to write a review because I didnt think my words could convey the range that MDB's music does. Second Chance brings you to places youve been and places you want to be. There is an optimistic undertone that makes you feel that no matter who/where you are (boring relationship, stuck in the snowbelt, getting on with your life, thinking about running away, even a retired carney) there is always a sunny side of the street. The vocal harmonies are beautiful and when Marc plays the guitar its with a natural ease as if he is speaking to you. Kudos to every musician who backed up on Second Chance too! The magic is there! I recommend this album to anybody who enjoys great music. You the listener will be drawn in to each song and when the album is over you will be waiting for your next chance. Pick it up and listen. It's really great.
