"Plain and simple, this disc moves me. Highly recommended - one of my most-listened to discs of 2006 and, so far, of 2007."-Jim Colbert, The Folk Show, WPSU-FM, Pennsylvania
"Berardo writes simply with careful images and great tunes. I want to sing his songs. It is so difficult to write simply and well. Berardo does both. It also helps that he can certainly play his guitar. Harbor is lovely and well worth the listen. I love it. "-Jane Emaon-The Muses Muse Magazine Online.
Harbor @ #35 on FOLKDJ list for Jan 2006
tied with Jackson Browne, Pete Seeger, Darden Smith and Rodney Crowell!
In April of 2006, Munga Music will proudly release Berardo’s fourth CD (his first for the CT based label), entitled HARBOR. The highly anticipated collection produced by Prof. Dick Neal (Plexigrass, Larry Deming, Mockingbirds) is musically adventurous, oozing with integrity and just plain good for your soul. The thirteen new songs are framed by emotional string arrangements, exhilarating front porch clap a-longs and fine grooves that ease in like a quiet fog and float you across the secret blue and deep. Beautiful and real. Take a walk down to the Harbor."
About Marc Douglas:
Marc Douglas Berardo is a different kind of singer/songwriter. In what amounts to song length works of fiction, Berardo’s sharply drawn portraits cast a net on unusual and interesting characters and places. With a painter’s eye for detail, and music firmly rooted in the great American sound, Berardo sings about towns full of circus retirees, expatriates in Florida rum bars, union iron workers, aimless New York City debutantes, near death car crashes and of course, the changes that experience brings to everyone. All of these songs are brought to the stage with a relaxed and disarming stage presence, that makes for a fine night of music, laughter, emotion and insight.Wpkn-FM Bridgeport, CT called it the "rare feat of being thought provoking and a pleasure to hear." What this all means is that you should see him play. Seriously. He's good.
"He has an eye for unusual and interesting song topics. A lyrical standout."-Northeast Performer Magazine.

Gave me chills....
author: Mike L.
"I had no doubt that the record was going to be good, the production on this one is truly stellar. Some of the string arrangements gave me chills--particularly "Shake Out The Dust" and Marc's lyrics are unmatched in the imagery."

Can't miss with this CD!
author: John Ramspacher
If you like to feel deeply connected to the evocative nature of music, then you'll love this CD. This CD caught me by surprise with it's soul, style and grace. Not many artists can do that these days. I was inspired by the tracks, each telling a fresh story of the lives that we all know in our own way. My favorite is "Working," a typically endearing, self-effacing look into the artist and his experience behind his guitar. Listen closely to how he plays -- amazing.

A truly special CD

This CD is truly stunning. If you love the sea and old port towns, you will love this. The lyrics are masterfully written and the music is beautiful. Marc's haunting voice brings you into the story and you simply have to listen. An emotional journey that you will be glad you took. A great addition to any collection. Once you hear it, you will not forget it.
