Album Notes

Meadowlark are a husband and wife duo. Jansen Wendell plays the fiddle and mandolin. Elisa Lang plays the autoharp and 5-string banjo. They met playing music for the Philadelphia area contradance orchestra known as "SPUDS" and quickly discovered that the sounds of the mandolin, fiddle and autoharp blend beautifully on jigs, reels and especially waltzes. Several of the tunes on the CD were composed by Jansen,

The CD is arranged like that of a wedding, with the first section,"The Wedding", containing stately, elegant, ceremonial music, mostly written by the Irish harper Turloch O'Carolain.
The second section, "The Reception", has light and airy up-tempo tunes. The third, "The Dance", has vibrant, toe-tapping jigs and reels that you would hear at a barn dance after the reception.

Meadowlark's music is joyful, relaxing and heart-warming.
