MEATHOOK/GARGOYLE 2 on one cd contains the full length Gargoyle debut release featuring guitar virtuoso/composer KEVIN SANDERS when an abrupt mutiny took place shaking the foundations of the band he paisntakingly formed with me in mind for vocals!-rather than becoming a homicidal maniac, kevin left in disgust and let the band fizzle out in the next few months while tryin to stay together in gritty Los Angeles Kevin later became the driving force behind Punk phenomenon POISON IDEA in their glory years, before finding his way into MEATHOOK with metal legend matthew t mccourt of WILD DOGS/ DR MASTERMIND FAME (uh that would be Me...your humble narrator
Gargoyle is a progressive guitar driven album that would not be out of place in the SHRAPNEL catalog-and probably would be out on some other label if it hadnt been for mhead mutineer tim lachmans embarrassment (or not wanting to go endure more FBI interrogation due to the content of aryan way. in any case the vocals are extremely loud in this mix(since then Kevin has recovered the emasters and erased the vocals as part of his psychological treatement and that was brought on by the stress and strain of a failed band.

on a happy note. MEATHOOK a live set from a club tour in 1991 that combines WILD DOGS DR MASTERMIND and original tunes with dogs lead vocalist Matthew T Mccourt and Kevin Sanders on the twin axe attack.
PAUL DREYER on drums and the late great JOHN DONNELY on bass. who met his untimely death in the mid 90's.
the guitar prowess of mccourt is highly underrated influenced by dogs guiatr hero Jeff mark and label mates Paul gilbert and kurt james at shrapnel Kevins undeniable talent has gone to waste i the past 20 years as he has tried to recover his well being and sanity byu NOT playing in bands and diving head first into film and politics.

the meathook band was a short lived entity spending just a summer together writing and touring before other priorities
stopped the group before they could properly record any of their own material.
Kevin Sanders and drummer Paul joined the ranks of the highly acclamed alternative group EVIL PICKLEHEAD.
and later LIZARDO featuring KID COCKSMAN Kevin is a devout anti music industry type who blames the labels and the "rock monster" for his woes and medical bills. a serious tragedy as i could defintely use his talent in my projects but to no avail.his wish is"when the bomb drops i hope it hits los angeles first-" and wipes out all those mother*&^%$ers!
needless to say iagreed to include his music as a bit of relief- issues issues everywhere!.. so when they are gone they are gonzo! for good! (Kevin says- Good riddance f&&^%ers!
also included are bonus tracks by John Donnelly and a rare Poison Idea track written by kevin showing his diverse style kevin was a pi member during the the best period of the bands lengthy career and a major songwriter for the group.
Poison idea have been linked to numerous violent groups
which only heightened the awareness of the FBI in realtion to an investigation of the band.(gargoyle was not a political, racist or motivated band in any way, but in light of the murder of ethipian mulklagat serraw in portland during that period anything slightly suspicious was brought into light..
Metahook is for the lovers of matt mccourt..we had 20 of these cds left after paul and kevin took their share togive as gifts..so get em while the gettin is good
and watch for an instrumental version from kevin coming whenever he deems neccessary but dont hold your breath kevins latest cd was a one song 48 minuites long instrumental jam called jazz punk from outter space i offered to put it up so the world could se it - his reaction, NO! so 100 of those discs are findingtheir way into the hands of friends and family with great (if i may say so artwork form me(how's that kevin- he's next to me...

and hello pat- glad youre still here...I met pat lachman- one of the mutinous lachman bros.. as i was pasisng thruiu a field in beaverton oregon in 1988 i heard this amazing guitar tone, and went up to the house(i didnt know the cops were staking it out as it was later busted as a major cocaine distributor!...(or i woulda just kept walkin...
atthe time i had NO clue bout the politicof Gargoyle they were just a bnad who opened for wild odgs and dr mastermind.. and kevin was a great player with a wall of marshalls i was quite surprised to find ouit when we di dthis project that they had recorded an album so hopefully someone will hear the music and kevin can get on with his life and quit giving out tickets in his job!
