notes

MediaCrime is made up of four guys who love to play. All are veterans of the New York Metro original music scene. Eddie Havoc, on vocals and guitar, blends performing and song writing styles, mixing rock, punk, folk and garage/psychedelic influences. Pauli Dangerousli on guitar, vocals and harmonica, originally played drums in various groups. He met Ed while jamming and, after playing some guitar and showing some of his original music, joined up as vocalist, guitarist and colorist. John Mazza, on drums and vocals has been playing in original bands since he began to play. A devote of the seminal alternative/college radio sound, he goes beyond being merely a "drummer" and is involved in arranging and the band's artwork. Frank Orlando, on bass and vocals, joined MediaCrime following the departure of the original bassist. An aficionado of all styles of rock, his abilities allow the band to explore ever more diverse types of music. Also a veteran of the New York Metro scene, his driving bottom provides foundation for the band's dynamic live performances.

"Stapled to the Chicken" is the creative offspring of this talented and musically diverse quartet of intellectual misfits. Don't just listen to one track as no single track on "Stapled to the Chicken" defines the style or genre of this band's sound. Tight harmonies, driving rhythms, and tasty lead breaks framed with witty, tounge-in-cheek lyrics make this a CD you will wear out before you tire of it. Better buy two.

  • The CD has not left my car stereo since the first day I played it !!

Dear Mediacriminals... nifty website you've got there, what with song samples, groovy band pix, crumpled tinfoil wallpaper, and so forth. As the recent recipient of a copy of your CD "Stapled To The Chicken", I can not resist singing the praises of Mediacrime!!! From the bouncing rhythm of the opening Too Many Red Lights all the way through to the sexy "rolling the soul of the beach" lyrics of the closing Jammin Days, your album rocks 1000%! I kid you not my friends, the CD has not left my car stereo since the day I first played it. All the tunes make excellent driving music. It's surprising I haven't got a speeding ticket because when I hear the songs Machines, A Different Thought, or A Taste of Power I just want to put the pedal to the metal in my crummy little Cavalier! Hahahaaaa!!! I eagerly await the release of your new album, and hope that someday I can make the trip to NY to see you guys live and in person. Sincerely, your devoted Nebraska fan Mizz Pamela (Mediacrime is good corn huskin' music too!)

  • This is a smokin' CD, It really rocks.
    author: Bruce Battaglia

After listening to all the 2 minute cuts of the songs, I really thought the music had a great sound and a MESSAGE with the music. Great lyrics and tremendous instrumental. I'm definitely going to get this CD! d

  • Finally, something different. I can't get the tunes out of my head!
    author: Carl D.

This CD is a great find. It's hard to classify though. It is not what I would call punk but has punk influences. Much more melodic. I hear the Neil Young thing going on in there too. The combination rocks.

  • awesome cool rightous unbelievably funky in a Sally Feild sort of way

You guys are great, but what ever happened to Bob Murphy, I'm one of his biggest fans.
