It's an eclectic Americana collection, for sure. And, any radio programmer/agent will say, correctly, that there's no particular style.

Album Notes

Naughty Naughty Nice. Takin' the Way Back machine to 1960 for the cover's Pierce brothers' Christmas morn shot to 1967 for the Decoys' "Battle of the Bands" shot. And, some of these songs mark past years' "wish-you-were-here (instead of me)" memories (although, based on the still-healing scars, not nearly as far back)- "Deceived", "Who the Hell", "Where Do I Begin?".

But then there are the new songs -- reflecting a newfound peace, a new definition of happiness and a fresh look at real (less selfish, more instinctual) love - "If I Ever", "You're All I Want", "May You Dream", Time Tested and True".

Finally, there are those songs that materialized just from living in this material world. Built on the foibles, failures, fancies and fascination with "Why?", I opened my eyes to find "Abandoned", "Vous Deux", "Elisa (Jammin')", "Lick the Knives" and "Thank You".

It's an eclectic collection, for sure. And, any radio programmer/agent will say, correctly, that there's no particular style. There's no easy-to-pigeonhole sound. There's not. The only thing these songs have in common: a formerly lost, but happily found man, husband, father and lifelong pupil. Thank you, friend. Thank you, lover. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, earth and sky.
