Album Notes

Medusa Cyclone’s first single,Jaguar Snake Cloud b/w X-Plodo Sun Hat, was released on Manta Ray Fleet, a Detroit-based label started by McDonald and Chris Girard.

Manta Ray Fleet released 45s in limited runs of 200.

The label enjoyed a strong following in the lo-fi underground of the early 1990s and included releases from former Prong bassist, Troy Gregory, as well as Electric Six guitarist John Nash.
Manta Ray Fleet fans included Stephen Malkmus and Mark Ibold of Pavement, and John Peel.

A split single was released with Pavement in 1996:“Dancing with the Elders" b/w Medusa Cyclone--"Chemical.” Label: Third Gear

1996 the self-titled, "Medusa Cyclone," released. Label: Third Gear

Standout tracks include: Chemical, Dream House, Burner.

Medusa Cyclone’s shows during this time were a trance-fueled sonic assault to the world beyond.

2007-a film documentary on the rise of Kid Rock titled: "A Detroit Thing" released. Director: Anthony Brancelone.

Included in the soundtrack were three tracks previously released on "Medusa Cyclone."
