This is a relatively solid piece of work considering the thin history of Iranian rock bands as role models for younger bands such as Meera to draw inspiration from. The collaboration between the guys(who apparently all came from different bands, backgrounds and projects) seem to work and they gel quite well. I liked a couple of tracks very much. The lyrics and vocals are excellent and the music technically sounds fine but the guitar work though it shows an advanced streak, lacks originality (I didn't sense the lead guitarist voicing his individuality in as unique way as one would expect). It is surely a good start and it is sad to know they have decided to disband and go in different directions. Meera, I Wish you all good luck, both individually, and hopefully collectively should you reconsider getting back to work on a fresh and even more original sounding album - I know, it's only hard work, but we like rock n roll, don't we?

Engineered to Perfection...Meera crosses all boundaries to carry the audience to a newly defined world and a whole new frontier beyond the Great Persia! I got my copy of Meera a couple of weeks ago and have listened to it quite a few times already. My favorite tracks are: 2.Wound, 4.Exile, 5.Friendship, 8.Rainbow and 3.Old tree. The most appealing aspect of your work to me is the fusion of persian and rock/jazz genres. This gives it a very fresh and interesting sound. A couple of comments on the CD packaging: I wish the Farsi song titles were also included (not only the English translations of the song titles). Also some liner notes on each song would have been nice (musicians, lyricist, date of recording, etc.). I think what you and other contemporary young musicians inside Iran (mostly inside) are doing, by experimenting with other genres, and trying to push the envelope of Iranian music beyond the Aseel and the jaded 6/8 (coming out of LA) is wonderfull, absolutely needed and deserving much more support and recognition. It's a pitty that under the current circumstances, the avenues for this expression are very limited and lack the support and funding that would help energize and cultivate this relatively new musical development in Iranian music. I just hope that you and other talented musicians who are producing such amazing work in such a harsh context don't give up. Because, let's face it, you guys are creating a new chapter in Iranian music and sooner or later your music will be more recognized and more appreciated. Thanks to Bamahang, Zirzamin, Cafe-Tehran and other websites that are spreading the word about your music and making it available and also thanks to CDBABY for their wonderful shipping and packing. Hey Farzam, I am a fan of your work from Raze-Shab days and was sad to read about Meera's break up. But I'm sure this is just another step in your musical development...Anyhow, I want to thank you for the music and wish you all the best!
