Album Notes

Megan Cameron's unique blend of folk, classical, and contemporary alternative rock music, have been described as "Tori Amos meets Cold Play". Known for her introspective lyrics and melodic songwriting, she has been compared to Joni Mitchell and Judy Collins. Performing both solo and with friends Tony Beres on percussion and Will Perkins on violin, she mesmerizes audiences with her haunting melodies and stirring lyrics.

She strives to bring a hopeful message to listeners about reconnecting with the earth and each other. Much of her music speaks of the female experience and the struggle to be true to your authentic self. She has been performing in the Athens area for over 5 years and in 2002 made her Columbus debut at ComFest. Since then she has been performing in the Columbus area on a regular basis.

Megan began performing and singing in ensembles since elementary school. In Jr. High School she was a charter member of the Otterbien Kinderchor. She began her music writing career at Westerville South High School with the completion of Water Crashes, which she often performs to this day.

In 1999 Megan graduated from Ohio University's School of Music with a degree in music education. During her four years at OU she steadily began to write more and more music and perform around the Athens area. In 1997 she founded an annual benefit concert, One Voice: Celebrating Women in Music to raise money for local music programs and women's organizations.

Her first full length CD Another Page was released mid May including 12 original compositions. Previous projects include writing and performing the soundtrack to a video released by non-profit Rural Action. Megan, along with Will Perkins performed a primarily instrumental piece of music depicting the life cycle of a ginseng plant. She also sings with folk band Sarah Guthrie and the Athens County Ruffians. They released their second CD this June which can be found on CD Baby as well, look up Sarah Guthrie, Two Minds.
