Melanie Devaney is an intuitive and unique songwriter whose lyrics and melodies embrace the spirit of rural America with an ironic poetic polish and cosmopolitan flair.
Her achievements include winning the 2007 Colgate Country Showdown as sponsored by 98.1 FM KHAK radio station in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She also won an honorable mention for her song “Right Here On the Farm” in the 2006 Mid-Atlantic Songwriting Competition. She has entertained audiences at Tucson Folk Festival, Cheyenne Frontier Days, the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion and the Sturgis, South Dakota Black Hills Bike Rally.
Her first CD, “Cadillac Daddy,” released in 2006, proved her as a serious songwriter and musician.
Her new album, "Happy, Lucky, Lost & Free," released in December of 2008 was produced by Ted Wulfers. It combines her amazing lyrics and vocals with his unique production style to provide a toe-tapping, fun listenng experience for all ages.
The strength of Melanie's music lies in her ability to create melodic twists that stay in your head for weeks.
