Melanie Joe is a 22 year-old multi-genre singer/songwriter who is the reigning North American Country Music Association “Most Promising Female Vocalist.” Last year she won the title “Bluegrass Female Vocalist of the Year” by the West Coast Country Music Association.
Melanie Joe has come a long way from her small town Southern California beginnings. As Melanie Joe explains, “At the age of 7, I was singing along to Crystal Gayle in the back of my Dad’s car and it was in that moment, I knew my dream was to become a professional singer. But for the last ten years, I had horrible stage fright. Singing is my absolute passion so to overcome my stage fright I pushed myself onstage as much as possible so I could make my dreams a reality.
Some of the more recent places I performed at were the San Diego County Fair and the Rancho Bernardo Fireworks. Both those venues had crowds of over 1,000 people. I also just recently sang with the band Barbwire as a guest at one of their shows at The El Cajon Grand. I regularly headline Country at the Merc in Temecula, where I sing with The Ranch Rockers which keeps me working with live bands.”
As Melanie Joe continues to rise, so does her civic work. Melanie Joe donates her time and voice to many charitable organizations including The Girls Against Abuse Foundation, Safe Alternatives For Everyone, and Oak Grove School for at risk youth.
