Album Notes

being 22, graduating from manhattan school of music and immediately putting out a second independant album is no small task, especially to produce such a high quality and authentic product. mel flannery trucking co. pioneers the hybrid genre of lush pop songs played by accomplished and well-schooled jazz musicians with an edge and aggressiveness found typically in rock and roll. mel's cello-like voice resonates honestly and warmly while her lyrics are, at times, an assault of clever commentary or complete surrender to love, loneliness and all the other things that keep us up at night. this refreshing album shows us a more refined and personal trucking co. produced by mel flannery and lee pardini and featuring tommy crane on drums, matt aronoff on upright and electric basses, lee pardini on piano and fender rhodes (as well as co-author of many of the tracks), and mel flannery on vox and compositions, this is an album for those who tire of the pop-machine talking heads and appreciate the integrity of real original music recorded live by real live musicians who love what they're doing. don't miss the opportunity to experience it.

REVIEWS

Great second effort

Love the title cut, and "Anniversary Song" is a heartfelt piece. MFTC is making a name for itself with interpretations of Flannery originals. "Anyone and Everyone" is damned fun, as are the rest. Fine second CD from an eclectic but very talented group. Keep it up.
