Album Notes

WE PLAY BOTH KINDS OF MUSIC,
"BLUES AND ROOTS"

After 5 years of sluggin it out around the sticky carpeted smoky drinking holes of Australia MARK EASTON LIMOUSINE are set to release their brand new slab of blues rock roots gospel country electrified slide foot stompers on the BLACKMARKET MUSIC label, the guys who gave ASH GRUNWALD, MOJO WEBB, LLOYD SPEIGEL DALLAS FRASCA and countless others a big start.

BANDWAGON, a no frills album that will get your grandmother up dancing and when you kiss her good night she'll slip the tongue in!
Marks statement on the last track of the cd "IVE BEEN PLAYING THIS BANJO FOR 25 YEARS, I CAN MAKE IT SQUEAL LIKE A PIG" couldnt be closer to the truth, his slide playing has gone up another level on this one, and the songwriting just gets better every album!
If i had to sum this record up in one line i would have to say
"A ROCKIN GOOD TIME"

if you love energy, and pork, you'll love MARK EASTON LIMOUSINE

Thanks for getting a copy of the CD to me, I have been listening to it for about six weeks and have given a few tracks some airplay over that time. Great work, really is. The cd kicks off with a belter, nice and heavy blues boogie and throughout the album there is a fair bit of light and shade with some subtle acoustic numbers, respectable covers (can't go wrong with Hound Dog and Rory), and a bit of social commentary thrown in. Love the national steel and harp work particularly, and a couple of the tracks border on the frantic side (Work It Hard and the closer "Not Blues Enough" - that would have to be a true story, right?) Your influences would have to be Winter and Hendrix as mentioned, but there's nothing wrong with that as far as I can hear - it sounds heavy at time sure, but sounds bloody great to me. Can't please some blues traditionalists, but they'd have their head stuck up their arse anyway. You must be pretty happy with the cd, it's a ripper and will continue to give it plenty of airplay. IT ROCKS

This three piece outfit hails from Queensland and features Easton on slide guitar, Kayne Butler on drums and Michael Foster on bass. The album is a real mix of rockers and acoustic ballads. The three covers on the album gives us some insight of influences with Hound Dog Taylor’s, “Give me back my wig,” Rory Gallagher’s, “Bullfrog blues,” and the traditional “John the revelator.” Mixed in with full throttle slide are a number of original acoustic numbers that are more interesting both musically and lyrically. Typical of many Aussie blues bands that travel a lot to play, they have a repertoire that can cater to most audiences. However the original “Not blues enough” tells the tale of how there the “Blues Police” will never be satisfied and never hear anything new!

The Australian Mark Easton just finished his third CD called 'Bandwagon'. An energetic CD full of electric blues, blues-rock and roots music. There are three borrowed songs amongst the twelve we find on this album and they are all very pleasant to listen to. It's also a way lo leave his dusty Australia and explore the wide world. Considering this album he's allowed to. It is a fully fledged CD with a not so very common sound. The combination of harp, slide and a banjo isn't heard on your average blues album. When we listen to Hound Dog Taylor's 'Give Me Back my Wig' and Rory Gallagher's classic 'Bullfrog Blues' we hear the raw side of Mark Easton Limousine. The roots got the upper hand on tracks like 'When I Think Of You' and 'Got You On My Mind' then they wake us up with blues-rock in the shape of 'Out Of My Hands' and 'Head In The Clouds'. There is some self-mockery as well on this album when we listen to 'Not Blues Enough'. In which Mark sings that they are not wanted because they are not blues enough. This line alone deserves them a ticket to the blues stages around the globe
