Album Notes

The Mellow Palace is the ambient side project by the Roffeld brothers, also of the strange experimental duo known as Receptor Sight.

The idea was simply to create a sedating, chill out ambient piece which would be psychedelic and rich, yet not too intense to ruin any kind of mellow space one enters while the music is going, and the mind is free to contemplate, read, or perhaps not to think at all and go to sleep.

we made a loop of a tape recorded cat, let that run, and in one take done on the floor surrounded by instruments and electronic devices,we simply improvised and recorded straight to an open reel 2 track.

like tangerine dreams Zeit, or a Popul Vuh album, we hope the listener can put this cd on repeat and get passively lulled into a state of environmental listening enjoyment.
