Mel's voice is always a pleasure to listen to...

Another Mel Tormé CD you will say, not exactly in fact... Here are caught the best of the MacGregor transcriptions (1947) and the World transcriptions (1948). Not only a pleasure for Mel fans but for anyone who enjoy perfect harmony between band and singer. Perfect phrasé, intonations and melodies... A dream to listen to... (So rare nowadays)

The late great Mel Tormé sings song standards in a mellow intimate style,
author: Bob Allen
Mel Tormé has a lot of CDs available, but none showcase his unique singing style any better then this one. Essaying the Great American Songbook (a.k.a as GAS) to perfection, the songs come from the heyday of tin-pan-alley when songs were written to convey emotions with melody and lyrics. A good choice for those familiar with Mr. Tormé and an even better one for first-time listeners.
