Album Notes

Melvin Morrison was born November 14th,1958 in Pavo, Georgia to Rufus and Wilma Morrison. He received his grade school education in the Brooks County School System in Quitman, Georgia. His high school years were spent in the Prince George School System in Prince George, Virginia. He then attended Albany State College in Albany.

Melvin has traveled the United States from end to end and knows well the road of a Truck Driver. In those years Melvin had the opportunity to listen to a million songs in many genres. He loves good music of all types, and in this CD he has blended the styles of many artists who have influenced him over the course of his life. Two of his favorite artist are Alan Jackson and David Ruffin (formerly of The Temptations).

"Country Soul" is a unique blend of both the country music of the rual south, and the gutsy soul of Motown. As a Georgia boy, he has aunthentic roots in both kinds of music and is comfortable singing either. Some of the world's best musicians have been hand-picked to create the multi-faceted music bed for Melvin's soulful country/soul vocals. Melvin sings from his heart and soul. This CD will appeal to most any music fan and knows no ethnic boundaries, Just sit back, get in the groove, and ENJOY!
