The first CD to demonstrate the combination of Mel's musical and spiritual paths, "I Awaken To Love" is a collection of inspirational songs for the new millennium. It features a variety of wonderful singers from the worlds of folk, cabaret and positive inspirational. Featured singers include Jenny Giering, Bill McKinley, Amanda Satchell and Elaine Silver, as well as Dee Billia, Harry Patrick Christian, Jeremy Koch, Denene Mulay, Sunita Param and Donald (and Mel) White. Visionary vocalist David Ault describes Mel's songs as "a much desired guidepost for those seeking a more rewarding life." They cover all genres from pop ballad to Peter Paul & Mary style folk to contemporary classical church music to Bonnie Raitt and they include large group numbers, quartets, trios, duets and solos (even a solo by the composer herself - "God's Troubadour"). One unsolicited testimonial from a fan in California sings the praises of "the fantastic and heart-beacon Mel White whose music lights my heart and soul". A songbook is available to accompany this CD, and many New Thought churches use the songs as group songs and in their choir. "A Part Of Me" has been used in weddings and, especially in the post-9/11 world, as part of tributes and memorial services. "Let There Be Peace Between Us" has become a traditional group song in many churches since September 11th.
