Album Notes

The Membrane Conspiracy is the main musical project of Mathbat's Sean Hopp.

Mathbat Records is a low-budget Chicago-based CD/CDR/7" label of difficult classification, but guarantees that all of its music is wet and slimy and creative and deep and dark and delicious.

Mathbat has been recording and releasing its warped brand of dark and funky music out of Chicago since 1997. It has unleashed its demented vision upon an unsuspecting world through the miracle of the Internetâ„¢.

Mathbat's music leans toward surreal, illogical, beat-driven gothic art pop that flirts with philosophical emotions while noisily copulating with a robust stench of electronic funk.

Mathbat's main musical projects are The Membrane Conspiracy, Crepusculous, and Smea, but has a catalog of over 20 releases from a variety of artists.

Mathbat.com actually has absolutely nothing to do with Math, or Bats, or even the fictitious character Mathbat (based loosely on a tiny green bat-like demon)
It is not necessarily for children, is free in most countries, and is defnitely not for the feeble of stomach.

Dark and electronic, yet without the overblown pretentiousness of much of the current scene.
