Album Notes

MENBAH! is a one-man band from Indianapolis. This compilation of his best songs ranges from dystopian disco-funk to folk/hip-hop, from an old school R&B jam to humbucking '70s-style rawk--and that's just the first eight tracks. Add some unexpected chord progressions and a dynamic, 3-1/2 octave vocal range, and you're starting to get an idea.

Christopher Short, the creative force behind MENBAH!, has been writing "outside" lyrics set to accessible pop music for over 15 years. He grew up on hefty doses of The Beatles, Queen, and even REO Speedwagon, before graduating to the alt-rock phenomenon of the mid '90s and the garage rock revolution of the early aughts; all of these diverse influences have shaped his unique sound.

MENBAH! recently beat a field of 24 to win the first annual Budweiser/Nuvo Newsweekly Singer-Songwriter Competition--quite a feat, for someone who doesn't work in the singer-songwriter genre.

As if all that weren't enough, this CD qualifies for CDBaby's 3 for $15 sale. Give it a listen, and discover sixteen candidates for your new favorite song.
