Menthol Hill : Disfigured Live

Moody jams and punked out pop songs give this eclectic album a slacker's charm. Ripe with guitars, keyboards, violins and trumpets. Like the Velvet Underground having Hollywood blues.

Album Notes

Menthol Hill was a Los Angeles-based band from 1995 to 2002. When the band wasn't busy recording on its 4-track in a closet, they could be found out back, watching haze float down El Sereno hills. Producer Lorenzo Buhne would be busy at the board, polishing the sound. Formed by Eric Forst, Brian Glascock, John Connors and Kedron Parker, over the course of eleven-hundred beers and 12 different line-ups, the band played at Mr. T's, Al's Bar, Spaceland, and the Silver Lake Lounge. Members included Mark Mastopietro, Jeff Kettle, Craig Manrique, Sheri Ozeki, Denise Bonis and Lisa Nardoni. Their "Disfigured Live" CD features performances by Tracey Spuhler (violin) and Phil Jordan (trumpet) and was originally released in October 2002.
