Mercury Sol is electronic music for people that don't usually like electronic music. Combining elements of rock, hip-hop, jazz, funk, old-skool, and trip-hop - this EP is miniature version of the breakthrough album "3000 Miles From Boston"...sort of a "Sol Sampler" if you will...

Grounded far deeper in Rock N' Roll than in electronic club culture, Scott Parent cut his teeth playing guitar and singing in indie bands throughout Boston in the 90's. After relocating to Southern California in 2001, Scott built a studio and started collecting sounds and samples that would eventually make up the structure for 3000 Miles From Boston. After whittling through a creative process that yielded nearly 40 songs (in various stages), 12 were chosen for the album (and 5 of those 12 for this EP). Featuring an array of live instruments (guitar, drums, bass, percussion, horns) and a heap of electronic synths, samples, turntable tricks, and some obscure vocal samples, Mercury Sol is quite simply... funky dance music with a rock attitude.
