MERCY MONET'S natural and intuitive approach to this great music known as Jazz is very refreshing and distinctive. She is a vocal stylist who continues to explore and search for greater, in-depth meaning to this wonderful music.
MERCY has performed at various jazz clubs in the Big Apple, namely, Birdland, The Village Gate, The Blue Note, St. Peter's Church, The Five Spot, and in New Jersey at Trumpets Jazz Club, and in Montclair at the annual First Night festival.
MERCY made her debut recording: "A TOUCH OF MERCY" with the great Ron Carter on bass, the fabulous Kenny Barron on piano, and Payton Crossley on drums.
MERCY has performed with many wonderful and great jazz musicians, namely, Jon Hendricks, Barry Harris, Lynn Arielle, Carline Ray, Bertha Hope, Walter Booker, Sheila Jordan, and Mr. Billy Taylor to name a few.
MERCY is an Educator as well as a performer, having taught vocal and choral music for several years in the public schools and private students. She graduated Cum Laude in completing her Bachelor of Performing Arts degree at City College, and Music Education at Hunter College.
