Album Notes

The male R&B soloist J. Red is a native of North Carolina. Although R&B is his main course in music taste; J. Red also engages in hip hop production and artistry. Chuck Johnson, owner of WRSV 92.1 Jams says: “J. Red has the best production and song quality I have ever heard from North Carolina. His songs sound so professional.” J. Red’s singles “What's Up” and “No Games” are receiving airplay on both major and college radio, throughout North Carolina and Virgina. He recently completed his EP - What's Up which contains music for urban, hip hop and pop cultures. He is currently working on his sophmore album "Second Nature" which is due to be released April 2006.
At one point and time J. Red was a member of the R&B group Average Guyz. During his stay with the group, J. Red had the privilege of recording in a major studio “Master Sound Studio” located in Virginia Beach, Va. He also seized the opportunity to record with artist such as Missy Elliot, Chad Hugo of the world famous “Neptunes”, and Big Bub. The unforgettable knowledge of studio engineering, production and songwriting enabled him to start his own production company “Soul Mop Music Group, Inc.” and Record Company “Culture South Records”.
J. Red has broadened his artistic skills to acting. In 2002 J. Red joined the cast of the hit play “This Too Will Pass” by Mary Patterson. He also landed a leading roll in the upcoming stage play "This is My Life" which is due to hit theaters February 2006. He is currently performing in various venues throughout the East Coast.
