Album Notes

This is country music with a tinge of rock thrown in for good measure, or what Brother Joel refers to as “cosmic country.” The brothers (Ezra and Joel) both hail from the Pacific Northwest, and have been serving the Portland musical community for the past decade.

The songs that comprise this album are rooted in American music. These are the type of songs that bring you to a dusty barroom in the middle of nowhere, no pretensions, no cover, and strong whiskey. Choruses that make the listener want to sing along, and stories real people deal with on a daily basis.

\"The Meredith Brothers Band churns out a drunken country grind that sticks to your ribs. These are neighborhood stories through a haze of cigarette smoke and stark reality. Great performances are wryly tossed off like used matches.\"
--Dan Linn, Rose Drop Media

\"This is absolutely excellent stuff. There\'s a really nice Basement Tapes feel to it, very loose, quite shambolic, just really good stuff!\" - Tom Fahey, AmericanaOK

\"Get ready for a big let-down! With all the hype surrounding this release...every song is a mess.\" - Rick Stevens, Collegiate Press Review

\"The Meredith Brothers play loose and fast in the best tradition of cosmic country. Stories of the daily foibles of life are mixed in with possibly-drunken sing along songs.\" - Jeff Weiss, Miles 0f Music

Country Music is Back!

What a record! It didn't leave my cd player for a week. Insant classics like "Duke and 52nd" a lonesome account of a singer in a bar, or "Highway of Regret" makes you want to light one up and crack the window. Pain stained and whiskey soaked that how I like my country music. Thank you Meredith Brothers!
