The music of “to be human” is very moving… it’s as if I could hear every emotion in her voice from anger, despair, and anguish to sweetness, compassion and love. This album is not over-produced like many contemporaries, but rather, it exudes raw talent and sheer spirit. The artist, Mere Ours, tells it like she sees it and is a force to be reckoned with. She leaves listeners wanting more. But we won’t be just wiggling our thumbs as we await her next album, “to be human” is a permanent addition to any CD collection, right up there with the Indigo Girls, Melissa Ferrick and Ani DiFranco.

Everyone I've played this album for has agreed that this artist, aside from being passionate and intuitive, seems to have experienced life in a way that suggests a much older person. When one's vision is concise and heartfelt, it can't but strike a resonance within the listener that reveals one's own unspoken reality. For instance, who's the last person to verbalize the connection between passion and inner peace ... probably that Jesus guy. So in conclusion, Mere Ours is the Second Comming and I pray to her for all my .... oh, excuse me, I have to go take my medication now, and put this album on again.
