Album Notes

Mere Ours' debut album, To Be Human, is a fearless, touching, and sometimes brutally honest expression of real life experience. She writes about love, friendship, loss, and fear in such a unique and uncompromising way that the audience cannot help but relate. Such strong writing combined with quality performance and the right amount of production is creating all sorts of attention for this unique artist.

Over the past few years Mere Ours has shared the stage with some notable artists, including Robin Renee and Bitch and Animal. Her performance range has been from all over New Jersey, to New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Berkeley, California. She has received radio play in these areas to as far away as Spain and Germany! That range continues to grow.

Ours has always been passionate about performing for progressive causes and continues to do so whenever possible. Supporting local arts and creativity, she has been involved in arts benefit events for a variety of local and national causes.

Mere Ours is a well-rounded, passionate, and progressive artist who has what it takes to make a difference in the contemporary folk-rock scene. Her debut album, To Be Human, will not disappoint.

The music of “to be human” is very moving… it’s as if I could hear every emotion in her voice from anger, despair, and anguish to sweetness, compassion and love. This album is not over-produced like many contemporaries, but rather, it exudes raw talent and sheer spirit. The artist, Mere Ours, tells it like she sees it and is a force to be reckoned with. She leaves listeners wanting more. But we won’t be just wiggling our thumbs as we await her next album, “to be human” is a permanent addition to any CD collection, right up there with the Indigo Girls, Melissa Ferrick and Ani DiFranco.

Wise beyond her years.

Everyone I've played this album for has agreed that this artist, aside from being passionate and intuitive, seems to have experienced life in a way that suggests a much older person. When one's vision is concise and heartfelt, it can't but strike a resonance within the listener that reveals one's own unspoken reality. For instance, who's the last person to verbalize the connection between passion and inner peace ... probably that Jesus guy. So in conclusion, Mere Ours is the Second Comming and I pray to her for all my .... oh, excuse me, I have to go take my medication now, and put this album on again. S. Talker
