Album Notes

Bravely defying solo artist sterotypes, in the fall of 2007 Jason Dooley set out to make yet another Mermaid Police album. Recorded at R.D.A. Studios, "3 1/2 Stars" was carefully crafted to appeal to not only the classic rock crowd but also offer some enticements to the 80's newave set. Mics were properly and improperly used, drums were tuned and programmed, guitars were restrung and moogs were tweaked CONSTANTLY to achieve the desired effects. This new record boasts a heavier use of analog synths,analog echoes, ghostly pianos, and plenty of baby kitties.
