Album Notes

Singer songwritters, Bryony Atkinson and Inara George are Merrick, along with Tim Aaron (guitar), Joe Karnes (upright bass), Scott Seiver (drums) and Amir Yaghmai (violin).

The band began in 1998, contributing songs to several film soundtracks (The Minus Man, HeartBreakers, Your Friends and Neighbors and soon to be aired on MTV, Wasted), releasing their own c.d., and financing their own tours .

Both albums have been played in heavy rotation on KCRW by such D.J.'s as Nic Harcourt (Morning Becomes Eclectic), Gary Calamar (The Open Road) and Chris Douridas(Ground Zero).

"Easy listening for suicidal tendencies".

"These are sirens in boxer shorts. Angels that become vandals. When you wake up they'll be gone."

The Rickie Lee Jones of the New Millenium

Clean, crisp production makes this genre-defying collection a winner. It's dreamy yet never boring due to the unpredictable harmonies and poetic lyrics. Art school sensibility and imagination slither all over the tunes. Creative without being self-indulgent. The vocals are reminiscent of Suzanne Vega, Edie Brickell, and Velocity Girl. Great chill-out music. I want to hear more from this band!
