Album Notes

Within You (Lullaby for Bobby) is a track we made for Bobby Resciniti, who is one of several wonderful new children that have been born into my family. I couldn't figure out what gift to send for his first birthday and decided to make a piece for him.
At the studio we passed around his picture so we could be playing music to him as if in person.
I'm happy how the track turned out with flute, guitar, and grand piano. It is a new arrangement of a previous composition, Within You, originally recorded with Joseph Hebert on cello, in 4/4 time. In the new arrangement we play in 3/4 , somewhat of a lulling feeling, and we improvise over descending lines which bring to life various scales from distant times and lands.
My cousin Bob is Bobby's grandfather and is working on a family tree. One thing that inspired the flavorful harmonies in the song is the photo of Bobby's parents, and his last name.
I look forward to making more lullabies and hope all the parents, grandparents, and babies/ children will experience peace within themselves when listening.
