Tree is still in the box
Ornaments are still packed
It’s late December
Not a gift has been wrapped
And I'm neck-high in suds, smack dab in this tub
Sipping on a glass of Chablis
Or two if i please

There's no wreath on the door
Or shiny-nosed deer
No blowup Santa or blinking lights anywhere
But I'm sure having fun on my rump-pa-pa-pum
Shootin’ the holiday breeze
Calm as can be

No hustle, no bustle
No worries, no troubles
I'm doing things differently this time around
Spreading some good cheer and it's starting right
Here and now

Gonna play some more Nat
King Cole and kickback
Squares of Godiva
And a cheap paperback
I'm taking time for myself instead of everyone else
Maybe even to New Year's Eve
