Metropolis, a vocally dynamic R&B group, blazes hot tracks by mixing bits of contemporary R&B, hip-hop, and classic soul. Their music sparks emotion, sending true music lovers into another world -- a world void of meaningless lyrics, bland arrangements, and knockoff talent. Metropolis feels their sound will aid in taking music to the next level. We consider our music to be sort of a rest haven for those who genuinely love and respect good music. Metropolislikens their style to artists such as Take 6, the BeeGees and Earth Wind & Fire, just to name of few.
The R&B quartet makes it clear that their mission extends far beyond providing shake-your-booty tracks and club jingles. Metropolis feels it is their obligation to inspire, motivate and uplift people with powerful and heartfelt vocals, reminiscent of seasoned soul music, but injected
with modern hip-hop and R&B flavors.
"We are in this business to produce good music. We want our music to do more than make you groove, we want our music to rouse emotion and take our listeners to a higher state of mind and energy," explains Atlanta native Jai Black, whom Metropolis agrees is the peacemaker and crazy glue of the group.
Amongst many, one of the ultimate goals of Metropolis is to refashion, revive and renew R&B. "To us, it is not only about inventing new styles, but it is also about renewing old ones," says Los Angeles native Jamarlin McClinton, dubbed “Mr. Outspoken” by the group.
"We want to carry forth the torches of musical icons like Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye," Brooklyn native Dominique Hall, the socialite of the crew. He adds, “We’ve laid down the fondation...this is a marriage. We are a union and we’ve made our vow to our music.”
Atlantan Calvin Glass, the mild mannered personality of the group, points out, “In the music industry only those who are persistent, committed and focused survive. I think we’ve matured as brothers, as a group, and overall, as men.”
Metropolis was just voted "Best Independent Act of 2005" by London's Blues & Soul Magazine.

The Real RnB!!!!!!!
author: The Voyage - Jazza 153
I heard this on a community station and felt the soul immediately. They remind me of the flavours of the late 70's/early 80's, when I was listening to Funkadelic/Leon Hudson/Stevie Wonder. It is a beautiful voyage and I am now hungry for more.
