Call it accessibly-sophisticated cartoon music for adults; bridging childhood memories of colorful cartoon music, reminiscent of Carl Stalling and the contemporary language of 20th century, classical American composers like Aaron Copland, (ie: 'Billy the Kid"), the end product would seem to fit perfectly with a comic western flick of today. The Metropolitan Wind Symphony's "Little Buckaroos" is a wonderful mix of styles and with the notable Adam Frey, one of today's most prominent trombonists, each of these tracks conjures up a clever plot, from chases to bank robberies to jail breaks. A delightful mix of quality, wit and imagination.
