Album Notes

The spark for this album began in New York City years ago when I heard John Jennings' songs. We became best friends and musical partners, working together every day for years. He wrote many songs and asked me to record them, some written specifically for me. My love for John endures always.

In 1972, I was cast as Frenchy in the original production of the Broadway hit "Grease", a great boost to my to life. One night, Marvin Hamlisch came backstage to see me. Later, he introduced me to Woody Allen, who cast me in "Sleeper". I am grateful for Marvin's support.

"Sleeper" led to a career in the movies, including the Academy Award-winning "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest", in the part of Candy. The film's composer, Jack Nitzsche, gave me another boost. The journey has been amazing, bringing together a lifelong family of friends.

So thank you, John; and thanks to all the other inspiring composers whom I love so much. Thanks also to Phil Small and The Small Band, who helped celebrate the spirit of "Do What You Do".

And do what you love to do: then help someone else pass the love along.

Peace
