Mexican Standoff is the music alias of Canadian-born Jacob Richter. Combining haunting, gritty folk melodies with the driving, intense rhythms of contemporary British Rock, Mexican Standoff presents a new flavor of intelligent and dramatic music.
Radiohead meets Johnny Cash aptly describes Mexican Standoff's rugged romantic energy and stylized story-telling quality. The music sounds like the rock soundtrack to a Sergio Leone spaghetti western.
Jacob Richter is also a trained, professional actor with experience in feature films, and on the New York City stage.
Mexican Standoff's The Drift is slated for use in the upcoming feature film, Kings, in which Jacob Richter plays the lead role.
