This Portland, OR based three-piece achieves its enormous emotional outburst by juxtaposing powerful primal rhythmic patterns with meditative melodies. Female lead vocals unite the forces and creates a sound that alone belongs to Mezmerelda.
"Sounds like Tori Amos telling Pink Floyd what to do!"
OR "Sounds like Natalie Merchant in cahoots with Tool!"
YOU DECIDE!
Mezmerelda: Who are these people? How do they make those wonderful noises?
Bradley, Jennifer and Jon met through a previous musical effort in another band that failed sooner than they could make a "Behind the Music" with VH1 (though the story fits perfectly). One positive result of the previously mentioned other band is that the three of them were able to develop a tight musical bond and decided to stick together after the band dissolved.
The new sound that is Mezmerelda was born.
They continued to build on their already strong musical bond to restructure their existing songs and to compose new melodies to suit their diverse individual yet complimentary tastes. Thus, Mezmerelda has set forth on a creative and spiritual journey to share their expression with anyone there to listen.
Mezmerelda is continually refining their technical skills with hopes to engulf and interpret all musical styles in their own fashion. So far, Mezmerelda's compositions have been motivated by the rock, blues, jazz, dub, folk, classical, World and eclectic genres. And as always, Mezmerelda is working on something new. Like in old Vaudevillian days -If you don't like the act now, stick around six minutes, there will be something different!
Great escape: immerse yourself in their live shows! Mezmerelda exudes emotion and carries you to a distant earthly plane.
But don't take our word for it - see for yourself. We'd love to hear what you think and appreciate your interest.
Enjoy!

author: Kast's Modern Rock Review
The aptly named Oregon-based band Mezmerelda has broken new ground with its album "Rebirth". From the first track, Rebirth transports you to a very personal plane and opens a portal to a place where the standard three dimensions cease to matter, the Fourth (time) seems to stand still and a Fifth, a dimension of Pure Sound is crystallized. "Autumnal Frost" and "Beautiful" are superb examples of a musical plane-scape of pure cascading resonance- rhythmic, oceanic pulses of bass blend with precise, tribal percussion counter-rhythms, perfectly balanced by Jennifer’s haunting, melodic vocals.
If you're looking for an escape from the stress of life, buy “Rebirth”. Hey, it’s cheaper than most other hallucinogens.
