David Weinstone created Music for Aardvarks and Other Mammals in reaction to the dearth of cool kid's music available. He recorded ten original songs. In an exhilarating range of musical styles executed with superb musical literacy and richness of instrumentation, his songs reflected and celebrated the lives of children growing up in urban environments as well as themes universal to all children.

His music immediately hit a nerve with children. and parents were thrilled to find something new that they themselves loved. Bootleg copies of MFA music circulated around Manhattan and within a few weeks the word was out that something completely fresh and original was swimming upstream against the tide of "hop-along-bunny" songs that inundate the children's music genre.

Weinstone's music has attracted astonishing praise from the press and has made its way into the hearts of children and parents alike both nationally and around the world.
