Album Notes

David Weinstone created Music for Aardvarks and Other Mammals in reaction to the dearth of cool kid's music available. He recorded ten original songs. In an exhilarating range of musical styles executed with superb musical literacy and richness of instrumentation, his songs reflected and celebrated the lives of children growing up in urban environments as well as themes universal to all children.

His music immediately hit a nerve with children. and parents were thrilled to find something new that they themselves loved. Bootleg copies of MFA music circulated around Manhattan and within a few weeks the word was out that something completely fresh and original was swimming upstream against the tide of "hop-along-bunny" songs that inundate the children's music genre.

Weinstone's music has attracted astonishing praise from the press and has made its way into the hearts of children and parents alike both nationally and around the world.

MFA is free-spirited and unpredictable. No renditions of Itsy Bitsy Spider or I'm a Little Teapot here. Thank you!

This is what my 3 year-old says as soon as the cd is finished.  I sing with him while driving a now I can't take the lyrics out of my head! Alessandro has a delay speech and the songs had heldped him a lot!

Even if I like a Cd a lot that I buy online for my girls 
(3 yrs) I'm a bit busy to bother writing back my opinion of it. With this Cd I felt should. Every child should own it and every parent should realize what children's music can aspire to. I have never heard anything so inspired and original for children in my life.
