In 1983 Merrell Fankhauser and his band got together with Quicksilver Mes-
senger Service guitarist John Cipollina for a high spirited jam in a studio on
the island of Maui. The first three songs on this disc were recorded without any
rehersal live. Then they took a break and went over a few songs to record in
another session. It turned out to be some of the last recordings featuring John
Cipollina. His hauntingly beautiful slide guitar solo on Merrell’s song “Water-
fall” gives you chills even in a tropical environment. Merrell’s “Into The Crater”
was recorded later in a live session on Maui and was dedicated to his friend
Randy California, guitarist from the band Spirit. The song “Workin’ In The City”
