Artist Profile-Micheál Finnerty

Isn’t it funny that when we stop and think about our lives, we can only remember a few of the good things that have happened to us but when we think about the bad things, we can vividly remember all the details of what happened to us. Instead of moving on in our lives away from the bad experiences, they just seem to linger and become a constant reminder that everything in our lives is not that great. It is easy to slip into this thought process and continue to live there or you can make a conscience choice to use it as a motivating force like Micheál Finnerty did to put yourself on the right path in life.

In his self titled debut CD, Micheál teaches us that we are all connected through similar life experiences that we all share. For example in the featured song, Van Gogh, he shares his own experiences of bad relationships. The ones where the other person just seems to have suddenly become disinterested and walks away. Even if they had a track record of this before with other people, we thought we were different, we had something special.

Relationships like that can throw us into bad patches in our lives where it begins to seem like everything is against us. As Micheál talks about in the song, Merry Go Round, we feel like we are out of control and we are just waiting to see what is going to happen next. This is how life will go for you if you don’t take control of it!
